Adam Read-Brown

Adam Read-Brown is the executive editor and director of journal programming for Carnegie Council's journal, Ethics & International Affairs, published by Cambridge University Press. As a member of the Council's senior leadership team, Read-Brown is responsible for shaping the journal's strategic vision and managing all aspects of publication for both the quarterly peer-reviewed editions and online exclusives. In recent years, he has shepherded the journal through a new website launch and led its transition to an open-access publication, driving significant growth in global article downloads.

Read-Brown collaborates with the Council's programs and communications teams to feature journal authors in Council events, promote content to wider audiences, and deliver academic resources to the institution's next-generation programs. He regularly presents on the work of the journal to visiting groups and represents the organization at conferences.

Prior to Carnegie Council, Read-Brown worked as an editor in academic publishing and as a teacher in Vietnam. He holds a BA in English literature from Wesleyan University and a Master’s degree in international security policy from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), where he also studied international media, advocacy, and communications. While at SIPA he was a senior editor at Columbia's Journal of International Affairs and a member of the International Fellows Program.
