Visalaakshi (Visala) Annamalai is a former research fellow at Carnegie Council, for the Model International Mobility Convention (MIMC) project. She holds an MA from Columbia's School of International Public Affairs (SIPA), specializing in human rights and humanitarian policy and technology, media and communications. Annamalai also holds an undergraduate degree in law from India and a Master's degree in human rights and democratization from Thailand.
Prior to joining Columbia, she worked for UN Agencies such as the IOM and UNHCR on projects related to human mobility and development in Asia and the Pacific.
