Veronika Cernadas is deputy director of communications at Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, where she supports communications and audience engagement across publications, digital platforms, events, and public programming.
She brings more than a decade of experience in global communications and media, including roles in development and humanitarian affairs within the United Nations system, as well as strategic communications and advisory roles across the multilateral, NGO, and private sectors. Earlier in her career, Cernadas was a journalist with Reuters, based in Dakar, where she covered security and health issues across West and Central Africa.
She holds an undergraduate degree in English from the University of St Andrews and an MA in international affairs from SOAS University of London. Her professional interests include emerging technology governance, sustainability, and information integrity.
