Pekun Bakare

Former Carnegie Ethics Fellow; Goldman Sachs

Pekun Bakare is an associate in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs covering clients in natural resources.

Prior to this, he worked for the Infrastructure Fund of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority and on the Project Finance team of FBN Merchant Ban raising debt capital for energy companies. At Columbia University, Bakare was the co-president of the Africa Business Club, co-chair of the Africa Economic Forum, and a research associate at the ColumbiaSchool of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) Center on Global Energy Policy.

He completed his BA (Hons) in philosophy, politics, and economics at Durham University, UK and holds a Master of international affairs (energy & environment policy) from Columbia SIPA and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Bakare is a volunteer for America Needs You and a mentor for Student Sponsor Partners. and enjoys athletic competitions.
