Lanier Fussell

Former Next-Gen Junior Research Intern, Carnegie Council

Lanier Fussell is a former next-gen junior research Intern at Carnegie Council for Ethics inInternational Affairs. In this role, Fussell provided research support for the Carnegie Council's Next Generation Leadership initiative.

Fussell is an incoming first-year student in the Master of Arts in International Affairs(MAIR) program at the University of Maryland. She intends to study the effects of international responses to humanitarian crises, concentrating on access to food and water. In 2022, she graduated from Louisiana State University with a BA in international studies, accompanied by a concentration in environment and development and a minor in French.

Fussell recently served as an AmeriCorps member in Oregon, as a part of theResource Assistance for Rural Environments (RARE) program. In this role, sheserved with a nonprofit providing technical assistance for agricultural producers and rural small businesses seeking funding to install renewable energy systems and implement energy efficiency improvements. Prior to this position, she spent seven months as an English language assistant in Montbéliard, France.
