Lanier Fussell

Next-Gen Junior Research Intern, Carnegie Council

Lanier Fussell is a next-gen junior research Intern at Carnegie Council for Ethics inInternational Affairs. In this role, Fussell provides research support for the CarnegieCouncil's Next Generation Leadership initiative.

Fussell is an incoming first-year student in the Master of Arts in International Affairs(MAIR) program at the University of Maryland. She intends to study the effects ofinternational responses to humanitarian crises, concentrating on access to foodand water. In 2022, she graduated from Louisiana State University with a BA in international studies, accompanied by a concentration in environment and eevelopment and a minor in French.

Fussell recently served as an AmeriCorps member in Oregon, as a part of theResource Assistance for Rural Environments (RARE) program. In this role, sheserved with a nonprofit providing technical assistance for agricultural producersand rural small businesses seeking funding to install renewable energy systems andimplement energy efficiency improvements. Prior to this position, she spent sevenmonths as an English language assistant in Montbéliard, France.
