Hans J. Morgenthau

(1904-1980) Political Scientist; Carnegie Council Trustee

Hans J. Morgenthau was one of the major 20th-century figures in the study of international politics. He served for many years as an advisor and trustee to the Carnegie Council.

Author of the classic Politics Among Nations, Morgenthau was a leading proponent of political realism while remaining deeply interested in ethics.
