Work with Carnegie Council
Carnegie Council is seeking an intern for Summer 2024 within the communications and knowledge management teams. This is a unique opportunity for those currently enrolled in or who have recently completed a graduate studies program to work collaboratively across two key areas of the Council.
Candidates will be interviewed and selected on their ability to work on various communications, research, and administrative projects in-person with steady coordination with Carnegie Council staff. The expected start date is June 12, 2024 and the internship will conclude on August 14, 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Support the maintenance of the Council website and assist the editorial team with edits and updates
- Review collections in Carnegie Council’s archive and propose a high-level redescription of legacy materials, in particular Worldview Magazine
- Review and scan key publications for inclusion in the archive, virtual and physical
- Assist in other library and archives projects as needed

Requirements:
- Commitment of 15 hours per week
- Attend weekly meetings
- Respond to correspondences in a timely manner
- Work schedule is flexible, but position requires regular check-in with manager
Qualifications:
- Current library and information science graduate student, preferably with a specialization in archives
- Willingness to learn web archiving processes on the job
- Knowledge of basic archival principles of processing, arranging, and describing collections
- Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
- Comfortable working with online platforms, such as: Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
