Stephan Said, also known as Stephan Smith, is a musician, activist, and writer. His lyrics advocate global equality, social justice, and reconciliation and he has been active with Occupy Wall Street.

His albums include difrent, Slash and Burn, and New World Worder and his songs include "The Bell." He has worked with Pete Seeger, Rufus Wainwright, and Leonard Cohen and he has been profiled in The New York Times, Billboard, BBC, and NPR.

Said's writing has appeared in The San Francisco Chronicle, The Progressive, CounterPunch, The Huffington Post, and others.

He is fluent in English, French, and German and he has a graduate degree in international studies from The New School.
