Bio

Shengwei Sun is a Ph.D. candidate in sociology at the University of Maryland College Park.

Her research investigates gender and class inequality in work and family dynamics in both China and the United States. She is particularly interested in understanding the changes in gender equality during China's post-socialist market reform.

Her prior work has focused on the changing gender discourse by mainstream media in urban China.
