Billy Pickett is a program assistant for Carnegie Council’s Public Affairs, Ethics Matter, The Living Legacy of the First World War, and U.S. Global Engagement Programs.

He is a Master of Arts candidate in international relations and world order at the University of Leicester and graduated from Fordham University with a BA in international studies with a European concentration and a minor in political science as a member of Sigma Iota Rho. Pickett complimented his undergraduate education by studying at the Pontifical Irish College of Rome and Heythrop College, University of London.

His most recent research explores how populist parties in Europe use appeals to national identity to promote distrust in the European Union.
