Anders Fogh Rasmussen

Former Prime Minister of Denmark; Former Secretary General of NATO

Anders Fogh Rasmussen is the former secretary general of NATO and the former prime minister of Denmark. 

From 1978 to 2009, Rasmussen served in Denmark's Parliament as a member of the Liberal Party. During that time, he held numerous positions in the Danish government, including minister for taxation, minister for economic affairs, spokesman for the Liberal Party, vice-chairman of the Parliament’s Economic and Political Affairs Committee, chairman of the Liberal Party’s national organisation, and vice-chairman of the Parliament’s Foreign Policy Board.

From 2001 to 2009, Rasmussen served as Denmark's prime minister. He was then elected to secretary general of NATO, a position he held from 2009 to 2014. 

He is the author of The Will to Lead: America's Indispensable Role in the Global Fight for Freedom.
