Amy Lieberman is a freelance journalist living in New York City and based primarily out of the United Nations Secretariat, where she serves as a correspondent for a Brazilian newswire. A graduate of Macalester College, she has written about everything from sexual violence in conflict zones to the art of dumpster diving for Women's eNews, IRIN, the New York Observer, MediaGlobal, and the Columbus Dispatch, among other publications. She traveled to Bangladesh and India in December 2009 to report on the impact women stand to have on sustainable social and economic development on a global scale.
