Andrew Feinstein is the chair of the AIDS charity Friends of Treatment Action Campaign.
He was an African National Congress (ANC) member of Parliament in South Africa for eight years, and resigned in late 2001 in protest at the ANC's refusal to allow an unfettered investigation into a multi-billion rand arms deal that was tainted by allegations of high-level corruption.
Feinstein is the author of The Shadow World: Inside the Global Arms Trade (2011) and also After the Party, a best-selling political memoir. He writes and lectures on politics and economics, the arms trade, corruption, and governance.
