Korkut A. Ertürk is an associate professor and chair of the department of economics at the University of Utah whose general areas of research include monetary theory, economic growth and development, gender and development, mathematical modeling, political economy, and the history of economic thought.

He has served as consultant to the Institute for Training and Research of Women, the Commonwealth Secretariat, and the Department of Social and Economic Affairs of the United Nations General Secretariat, and was a member of the International Advisory Committee for the UNIFEM Biennial Report.

Recent publications include ""Revisiting the Old Theory of Cyclical Growh: Harrod, Kaldor cum Schumpeter"" (Review of Political Economy 14:2, 2002), ""Overcapacity and the East Asian Crisis"" (Journal of Post Keynesian Economics 24:2, 2001-02), and Rethinking Central Asia: Non-Eurocentric Studies in History, Social Structure, and Identity (London: Ithaca Press, 1999).
