David J. Rothkopf

David Rothkopf is president and CEO of Garten Rothkopf, an advisory firm focused on emerging markets, energy, and security. He is also the CEO and editor-at-large at Foreign Policy.

Rothkopf was the co-founder and chief executive of International Media Partners, which published CEO magazine, Emerging Markets newspaper, and organized the CEO Institutes.

During the Clinton administration, Rothkopf was deputy under-secretary of commerce for International Trade Policy and Development. He also worked for the government as Acting U.S. under-secretary of commerce for International Trade.

In addition, Rothkopf has served as managing director of Kissinger Associates and he was the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Intellibridge Corporation.

His books include Power Inc.: The Epic Rivalry Between Big Business and Government---and the Reckoning That Lies Ahead; Superclass: The Global Power Elite and the World They Are Making; and Running The World: The Inside Story of the National Security Council and the Architects of American Power.

He has written over 150 articles, which have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Foreign Policy, Foreign Affairs, and many other publications.
