Sabrina Axster

Sabrina Axster is a Ph.D student in the Department of Political Science at Johns Hopkins University. Her research looks at the political economy of migration control with an emphasis on the privatization of immigration detention in advanced industrialized economies. She is currently preparing research in Germany and the United Kingdom.

Axster holds an MS in Global Affairs at Rutgers University as well as an MSc in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam. Prior to starting her Ph.D program, she served as research consultant at the United Nations Department Economic of Social Affairs.
