Bio

Marie Deschamps is a former puisne justice on the Supreme Court of Canada. She retired on August 7, 2012.

Before being appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada in 2002, Deschamps was appointed to the Quebec Superior Court in 1990, and to the Quebec Court of Appeal in 1992. Prior to her work on the courts, she practiced at the Quebec law firms of Martineau Walker, Sylvestre et Matte, and Byers Casgrain.
