Kelly D. Alley is associate professor and director of the anthropology program at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.

Alley has carried out research in northern India for over 15 years, focusing on cultural and environmental issues, and has directed a project to facilitate professional exchanges to address river pollution in India and the United States.

She is the author of On the Banks of the Ganga: When Wastewater Meets a Sacred River (2002).
