Lieutenant General H. R. McMaster is the former national security advisor to President Trump, serving from February 2017 to April 2018. He was formerly director of the Army Capabilities and Integration Center and deputy commanding general, futures at the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, assuming those roles in July, 2014.
