Christopher Flaherty

Ethics Fellow for the Future Alumnus

Christopher Flaherty is currently working on a PhD at the School of International Relations at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, where he also tutors undergraduates in the subject. He holds a MPhil in Modern Chinese Studies from the University of Oxford and studied international relations at St Andrews as an undergraduate.

Flaherty's research focuses on defining the theoretical nature of war and exploring the uneasy relationship it shares with rule-bound behavior in politics and social life. Aside from his own studies, he also has an interest in linguistics, sociology, psychology, and how these disciplines help to explain the subjective manifestations of social competition.
