Alicia Izharuddin is a senior lecturer in gender studies at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Izharuddin has worked for many years on the relationship between Islam, gender, and sexuality in modern Indonesia and Malaysia and has lived and worked in London, Oxford, Jakarta, and San Diego.
Izharuddin's most recent book is on gender and sexuality in Islamic filmmaking in Indonesia.
