Rudong Chen

Bio

Rudong Chen is professor of School of Journalism & Communication of Peking University of China. He is also presidents of the Global Rhetoric Society and the Global Alliance of Media Ethics and Law, and council member of the International Society for the History of Rhetoric.

He received his Ph.D. in linguistics and applied linguistics from Shanghai International Studies University in 1995. His research interests cover theories of rhetoric, language, and communication studies.

Chen has published seven monographs, including An Introduction to Socio-psychological Rhetoric, Chinese Rhetoric for Foreigners, Ethics of Language, Ethics of Communication, and New Theories on Rhetorical Communication Studies as well as more than 100 papers. He has undertaken two national projects of the China Government as a chief researcher.

Chen had been invited to teach and do researches at the universities in Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States as a visiting professor or researcher. He has also been invited to give plenary or keynote speeches at conferences of the International Society for the History of Rhetoric, the Chinese Rhetoric Society of the World, the Rhetoric Society of Korea, and other international societies.
