Holly Elizabeth Myers has a background in social anthropology and Spanish language. As a board member of the Women's Commission for Women and Children Refugees, New York, NY, she has traveled extensively to Central America, Colombia, Cambodia, and Angola to investigate conditions of conflict and internal displacement and issues of return and reintegration for refugees in these regions. She is also a trustee of the American Refugee Committee, Minneapolis.
From 1994 to 1997 she was active in the International Campaign to Ban Landmines/U.S. Campaign to Ban Landmines, co-authoring op-ed pieces on the landmine crisis in The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, The Nation, and The Los Angeles Times. She is vice president of Blue Oak Foundation, Portola Valley, California, a charitable foundation focusing on environmental protection, community development, social welfare, and family planning.
