Christopher McGurk

Bio

Christopher McGurk is a fellow with the Truman National Security Project. He served as an enlisted Army infantryman with over ten years of active service. During his tenure in the Army, McGurk was deployed to both the Iraq and Afghanistan theaters. A highly decorated veteran, Chris has received the Combat Infantryman's Badge, two Bronze Star medals, and a Purple Heart.

He left the Army in 2006 and began work with the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the leading non-partisan group for his generation of veterans, where he lobbied congress for more funding for post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries. McGurk is currently pursuing his B.A. in economics from the University of Phoenix.
