Celia B. Fisher

Celia B. Fisher is professor of psychology at Fordham University and director of the Fordham University Center for Ethics Education.

She is also a member of the DHHS Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections (SACHRP), co-chair of the SACHRP Subcommittee on Research Involving Children, vice-chair of the APA Insurance Trust, and a founding editor of the journal Applied Developmental Science.

Fisher is author of Decoding the Ethics Code: A Practical Guide for Psychologists (Sage Publications) and co-editor of five books, including Ethical Issues in Mental Health Research with Children and Adolescents (Erlbaum Associates). She is the author of over 100 publications in the areas of ethics and life-span development, and of commissioned papers for the President’s National Bioethics Advisory Commission on relational ethics and vulnerable populations and on the ethics of suicide research for NIMH.
