Bio

Lieutenant Colonel Omuso D. George is the Battalion Commander of the New York City Recruiting Battalion for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command.

From March 2008 to March 2009, George served as the Deputy Director for Resource Management, Gulf Region Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baghdad, Iraq.

He was commissioned as an Air Defense Artillery Officer upon graduation from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY in 1991. George's military education and training includes: Air Defense Artillery Officer Basic Course, Finance Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School, Military Accounting Course, Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution Systems (PPBES) Course, Advanced Management Accounting and Analysis Course (AMAAC), and the Army Command and General Staff College. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and a Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM).

His awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Staff Identification Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the U.S. Army Finance Corps Regimental Towson Medallion for distinguished service.
