Misha Glenny

Bio

Misha Glenny is a British journalist who specializes in southeastern Europe and global organized crime.

Glenny studied at Bristol University and Prague's Charles University before becoming Central Europe correspondent for The Guardian and later the BBC. He specialized in reporting on the Balkans independence wars in the late 1980s and early 1990s that followed the breakup of Yugoslavia.

Glenny has written several books, including McMafia: A Journey Through the Global Criminal Underworld (2008) and DarkMarket: Cyberthieves, Cybercops and You (2011).

Beginning in January 2012, Glenny is visiting professor at Columbia University's Harriman Institute teaching a course on "crime in transition."
