Bio

Born in Egypt, Khaled Dawoud has been the correspondent for Al Jazeera's Satellite Channel in New York since October 2006, covering mainly the United Nations and major news stories that take place in the United States.

Before that, he was bureau chief of Egypt's daily Arabic newspaper, Al-Ahram, in Washington, DC for four years, between October 2002 and 2006. He covered the White House, the State Department, and main think tanks.

Previously, Dawoud was the regional editor at Al-Ahram's English Weekly. He has covered stories in Iraq, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Dawoud also has experience working with Reuters, the Associated Press, the German News Agency, the British Guardian, the BBC, the African Service, and the Lebanese daily, Annahar.
