U.S. foreign policy is undergoing major changes due to technology, demographics, and economics, not to mention the disruptive agenda of the Trump administration.

Do technological advancements undermine the strength of the United States on the international stage? Can the post-Cold War bipartisan consensus on foreign policy endure these changes?

Derek S. Reveron is chair of the National Security Affairs Department at the Naval War College and is a faculty affiliate at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School.
