Work with Carnegie Council
Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs is seeking a Programming and Outreach Intern for Summer 2025 with the Programs and Partnerships office. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively on Carnegie Council’s Next Generation Leadership initiative. Candidates will be interviewed and selected on their ability to work on various communications, research, and administrative projects in-person, in steady coordination with Carnegie Council staff. The expected start date is June 9, 2025, and will conclude August 22, 2025. The internship position is in-person.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in research to scope and identify thematic areas for the development of our Next Generation Leadership curriculum
- Support Carnegie Council’s forthcoming impact initiatives and Accelerator programmatic efforts
- Provide research for speaker series
- Provide support for the planning and execution of online and hybrid events and panels
- Assist with the drafting of reports, impact statements, and letters of inquiry
- Help organize and attend meetings for the Council's Carnegie Ethics Fellows and Carnegie College Program initiatives
- Assist in reviewing and documenting Carnegie Council archives
- Assist with creating materials for donors and donor salons; research development opportunities on the latest program models; analyze donor data, giving trends, and philanthropy gatherings to create resource library; and help with other fundraising-related initiatives as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Attend weekly meetings and respond to correspondences in a timely manner
- Work schedule is flexible, but position requires regular check-in with manager
- Interns should expect to commit 12-15 hours a week
Qualifications:
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Experience with program management
- Outstanding professional judgement, discretion, and demeanor
- Strong research skills preferred
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with online platforms, such as: Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
- Prior experience working in a nonprofit, think tank, or academic institution preferred, but not required
Compensation:
Internships are unpaid but a small stipend is provided at the end of the term up to $500.
