Doctors Sagdeev and von Hippel have enjoyed a close collaboration over decades of work on nuclear arms control and nonproliferation between the United States and the Soviet Union, then Russia.

Their joint appearance at the Council provides a rare look into this collaborative work, and their insights for the future arms control agenda.

The Carnegie Council's U.S. Global Engagement program gratefully acknowledges the support for its work from the following: Alfred and Jane Ross Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, U.S. Army War College, Rockefeller Family & Associates, and Donald M. Kendall.
