Global Ethics Fellows

Global Ethics Fellows, November 2012

Global Ethics Fellows lie at the heart of the Global Ethics Network.

Fellows are leading scholars who contribute to a worldwide discussion of the ethical dimensions of international affairs.

Chosen for their expertise in ethics and interest in the Network, Fellows spearhead their universities' involvement in the Network, organize events at their home institutions, and collaborate with other Fellows, students, and Council staff to develop joint research, publications, and multimedia projects.

The fellowship is a non-resident affiliation with Carnegie Council primarily for professors who are currently teaching.

Sandy Africa
Sandy Africa is director at the Institute for Strategic and Political Affairs at the University of Pretoria in Pretoria, South Africa.

Hakan Altinay
Hakan Altinay is nonresident senior fellow, global economy and development, at the Brookings Institution; chairman of the Open Society Foundation-Turkey; and lecturer at Sabanci University in Istanbul.

Kwadwo Appiagyei-Atua
Kwadwo Appiagyei-Atua is senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Ghana, Legon, Accra, where he teaches public international law, environmental law, and international human rights law.

Christian Barry
Christian Barry is director of the Centre for Moral, Social, and Political Theory (CMSPT) in the School of Philosophy at the Research School of Social Sciences (RSSS), Australian National University. He also hosts Public Ethics Radio, an online audio broadcast with ethicists discussing timely and important practical dilemmas.

Evan Berry
Evan Berry is assistant professor of Philosophy and Religion at American University, Washington, D.C. and co-director of the Ethics, Peace, and Global Affairs master's program.

Lyn Boyd-Judson
Lyn Boyd-Judson is director of the Levan Institute for Humanities and Ethics at the University of Southern California.

Emiliano Buis
Emiliano J. Buis is a laywer and associate professor of public international law, international humanitarian law, international law of disarmament, and the origins of international law in antiquity at the University of Buenos Aires Law School, the Central University (UNICEN), and the School of National Defense, Argentina.

Jocelyne Cesari
Jocelyne Cesari is visiting professor and senior research fellow at the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace & World Affairs, Georgetown University, and the director of the Islam in the West Program at Harvard University.

Yun-Kyung Cha is professor of Education at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea. He is currently serving as the president of the Korean Association for Multicultural Education (KAME).

Deen Chatterjee is senior advisor and professorial fellow at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah.

Shaul Cohen
Shaul Cohen is associate professor in the Department of Geography and co-director of the Peace Studies Program at the University of Oregon.
