Public Affairs Program
Joanne J. Myers

Public Affairs ProgramThe Carnegie Council's popular Public Affairs Program consists of about 50 programs a year.

Speakers are prominent people in the world of international affairs, from acclaimed authors, to Nobel laureates, to high-ranking UN officials.

Audiences typically consist of diplomats, educators, students, journalists, NGO representatives, members of the business community, and concerned citizens. Both speaker and audience benefit from the well-informed question-and-answer session following the presentation.

  • Events take place at the Carnegie Council headquarters on East 64th Street in Manhattan, New York City.
  • The season of programs runs from September to June.
  • For information on a year's subscription, click here.  Individual events cost $25.00.
  • Registration is required for all events. See calendar for listing of all programs.
  • For more information, please contact Joanne Myers, Director of Public Affairs Programs at jmyers@cceia.org
  • Edited transcripts and audios of many of these events are available online, along with select videos.
  • These programs are occasionally broadcast on C-SPAN.

Public Affairs Program EventTestimonials:

"What I get most from presenting at these Carnegie breakfasts is the questions, the challenges, the new points, the things I or my co-authors have missed."
--Paul Kennedy, Yale University historian

"I welcome this opportunity to meet people who come to the Carnegie Council because they enjoy thinking about issues, grappling with things that matter..."
--Author and former UN official Shashi Tharoor

"I urge all of you in the audience to continue to support the Carnegie Council. You can't imagine the force, the moral power, of private organizations like this, especially now that the United States is formulating a whole new foreign policy."
--The late Father Robert Drinan, author, former congressman, and Georgetown University law professor
