Thomas I. Palley

Thomas I. Palley is director of the Open Society Institute's globalization reform project.

Previously he was assistant director of public policy at the AFL-CIO. He has written for the Atlantic Monthly, the American Prospect, and the Nation, and is the author of Plenty of Nothing: The Downsizing of the American Dream and the Case for Structural Keynesianism (2000); “Destabilizing Speculation and the Case for an International Currency Transactions Tax,” (Challenge, 2001); and “The Economic Case for Labor Standards: A Layman’s Guide” (Richmond Journal of Global Law & Business, 2001). He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Yale University.
