Robert Moossy is a federal prosecutor and director of the Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit in the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. The unit prosecutes significant slavery and human trafficking crimes, advises investigators and other prosecutors to make trafficking prosecutions and investigations more effective and efficient, and develops and implements national prosecution policies and program initiatives related to slavery and human trafficking. Previously, Moossy was a deputy chief of the Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division, where he and the lawyers on his team prosecuted federal civil rights crimes across the country, including misconduct by law enforcement officials, hate crimes, and human trafficking. Moossy was a member of the prosecution team in U.S. v. Kil Soo Lee, the largest human trafficking prosecution ever brought by the Justice Department, and has participated in numerous sex and labor trafficking investigations and prosecutions. |
