Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Nassim N. Taleb is Distinguished Professor of Risk Engineering and co-director of the Research Center for Risk Engineering at New York University-Polytechnic Institute. He is also an author and essayist and principal/senior scientific advisor at Universa Investments.

He is known for a multidisciplinary approach to the role of the high-impact rare event ("Black Swan")—across philosophy, economics, finance, engineering, cognitive science, and history.

Taleb is, among other books and research papers, the author of the New York Times bestseller The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable and Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder. His books have sold more than 3 million copies in print in 32 languages, making him one the most read and most translated thinkers in history.

Taleb is currently Distinguished Professor at New York University Polytechnic Institute and Principal at Universa Investments.
