Nadieszda Kizenko is an associate professor at the State University of New York at Albany. She researches and teaches Russian history, with a focus on religion and culture.
Kizenko has pursued her research in Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Tatarstan, and France. She has been awarded grants from the National Council for Eurasian and East European Research, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Social Science Research Council, and the International Research Exchange Program.
Kizenko is the author of A Prodigal Saint: Father John of Kronstadt and the Russian People and numerous articles on religion in imperial, Soviet, and post-Soviet Russia and Ukraine.
