Michael Goodhart
Michael Goodhart is associate professor and director of undergraduate studies in the department of political science at the University of Pittsburgh.

His primary interests lie in democratic theory and democratization, theories of human rights, and globalization.

He is the author of Democracy as Human Rights: Freedom and Equality in the Age of Globalization (2005) and editor of the collection Human Rights: Politics and Practice (2009). His recent work appears in Human Rights Quarterly, Journal of Human Rights, and Perspectives on Politics, and in the edited volumes Illusions of Consent: Engaging with Carole Pateman (edited by Daniel I. O’Neill, Mary Lyndon Shanley, and Iris Marion Young, 2008) and Global Democracy and Its Difficulties (edited by Anthony Langlois and Karol Edward Soltan, 2008).
