Bio

Mary Child is a writer, editor, and publishing consultant with 15 years of experience in journalism and publishing. Child has edited or authored numerous books and articles for publication. From 1997 until 2002 Child was the Asian Studies, Sociology, and History of Science Editor in the Social Sciences division at Cambridge University Press in New York City.

Prior to that (from 1993 to 1996) she was Commissioning Editor of Asian Studies books in the Humanities and Social Sciences division at Oxford University Press in Hong Kong. From 1990 to 1992 Child was an editorial writer and editor for the Op/Ed page of The Journal of Commerce in New York.

Child holds an M.A. in International Economics and China Studies from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a B.A. in Asian Studies from the College of Saint Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota.
