Bio

Mark Stephens is a senior member at London-based law firm Howard Kennedy LLP. He specializes in media law, intellectual property rights, and human rights.

Stephens, a native of the UK, began his law career in 1980 as legal director at Artlaw. He founded his own law firm, Stephens Innocent in 1982 and worked there for 17 years, before it merged with Finers in 1999, becoming Finers Stephens Innocent LLP in 1999. In 2013, Stephens joined HowardKennedyFsi as a senior member.

A former child actor, Stephens is a commentator on legal affairs on television and radio. He also contributed to Bloomberg's ""International Libel & Privacy handbook.""

In addition, Stephens is chair of governance at University of East London, chair of the Design and Artists Copyright Society, and president of the Commonwealth Law Association. He was honored as Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2011.
