Lisa W. Karanja

Lisa W. Karanja recently completed a year as the Orville Schell Fellow in the Women’s Rights Division at Human Rights Watch.

Prior to that, she practiced criminal litigation as a Barrister-at-Law in London and commercial litigation as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She has been extensively involved with numerous women’s rights groups in the East African region in the areas of violence against women, women’s property rights, and girls’ education.
