Joanna Macrae

Joanna Macrae is the coordinator of the Humanitarian Policy Group at the Overseas Development Institute in London where she spent seven years as co-editor of the Group's academic journal, Disasters.

Her research interests include official humanitarian policy; the interface between humanitarian, development, and foreign policy; and the role of aid in conflict management. She is author of Aiding Recovery? The Crisis of Aid in Chronic Political Emergencies (2001), and co-editor of War and Hunger: Rethinking International Responses to Complex Emergencies (1994).
