David C. Unger is the senior editorial writer on foreign affairs for The New York Times and visiting professor at Johns Hopkins University in Bologna.
Unger has worked for The New York Times since 1977. He has written over 3,000 foreign policy editorials for the newspaper.
His books include The Emergency State: America's Pursuit of Absolute National Security at All Costs (2012) and his writing has appeared in World Policy Journal.
