Christopher J. Finlay is lecturer in political theory at the University of Birmingham (department of political science and international studies). His current research is in the fields of just war theory, terrorism and the ethics of political violence, and the history of political thought.

His recent publications include Hume's Social Philosophy (2007) and articles in the Journal of Political Philosophy, The Review of International Studies, Thesis Eleven, The European Journal of International Relations, History of Political Thought, The European Journal of Political Theory, and The International Journal of Philosophical Studies.
