The Honorable Charles S. Shapiro has served in the U.S. Foreign Service for over 25 years, with wide experience in Latin America and the Caribbean. His posts abroad include Ambassador to Venezuela; Deputy Chief of Mission in Santiago, Chile; and Political Counselor in San Salvador, El Salvador. Shapiro's many Washington assignments include Coordinator for Cuban Affairs and Executive Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Inter-American Affairs.
