Cemil Aydin

Cemil Aydin is assistant professor of Asian history at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, teaching courses on the Middle East, Japan, and international history. After completing his doctoral research on Japanese Pan-Asianism at Harvard University in 2002, Aydin conducted his postdoctoral research at the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies on "The Politics of Anti Westernism in Asia: Visions of World Order in Pan-Islamic and Pan-Asian Thought."

He has published articles on topics related to Orientalism, alternative visions of world order, multiple modernities, and the role of identity in international affairs.
