Carne Ross

Carne Ross

Carne Ross is founder and executive director of Independent Diplomat, a diplomatic advisory group.

Ross previously served in the British Foreign Office. He worked at the UK embassy in Germany and, from 1997-2002, at the UK mission to the UN, where he was the UK delegation's expert on the Middle East. He also served as the strategy coordinator for the UN in Kosovo (UNMIK).

Ross founded Independent Diplomat in 2004 to give advice and assistance in diplomatic strategy and technique to governments and political groups.

Ross's books include Independent Diplomat: Dispatches from an Unaccountable Elite and The Leaderless Revolution. He is also a frequent commentator on international affairs on the BBC, Al Jazeera, NPR and in publications, including the Financial Times, the Guardian, The Nation, and the Huffington Post.
