Ashok Vasudevan


Ashok Vasudevan is co-founder of three food businesses in the US, India and Australia.

Presently, he is CEO of Preferred Brands International, a Connecticut-based food company: chairman of Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd., an Indian public company traded on the Bombay Stock Exchange; and chairman of Preferred Brands Australia Pty Ltd., a Melbourne-based sales and marketing company.

Tasty Bite was this year's recipient of the prestigious Government of India APEDA silver award for value added exports in agriculture.

Vasudevan was the co-founder and CEO of ASG-Omni, a strategy-consulting firm involved in the design and development of entry strategies for large U.S. corporations looking to do business in India.

He was also on the board of Tejas Networks Limited, a Bangalore-based optical networking company, which he co-founded. Tejas was last year's recipient of the CSIR award for technology from the prime minister of India.

Prior to his career as an entrepreneur, Vasudevan headed the India desk of Pepsi World Trade from its world beverage headquarters in Somers, New York. He received Pepsi's MVP award in 1991 for his contributions.

Before joining Pepsi, Vasudevan spent ten years with Unilever in various functions.
