Amita Baviskar is an independent anthropologist whose research concerns the cultural politics of environment and development. She has taught at the University of Delhi for almost a decade, as well as at Cornell and Stanford Universities. In 2002-2004 she was a Ciriacy-Wantrup Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. Amita Baviskar's current research focuses on bourgeois environmentalism and the restructuring of urban spaces and livelihoods in Delhi. Her work has involved working closely with rights organizations in India. |
