OPEN TO CARNEGIE NEW LEADERS
UN Population Fund
Description
Just this week, the world population reached 7 billion, adding a billion new lives to the earth in barely 12 years.By the end of this century, the UN predicts that there could be more than 10 billion people.
As Barbara Crossette, author of The UN Population Fund Report, shows, most of the births will be in the poorest countries, where resources are slim. At least 215 million women who want family planning are denied the means and the right to it. Indeed, international aid for family planning has been decreasing for a decade. Why?
